Name: Leeds Old Central Synagogue (or Leeds Old Central Hebrew Congregation)
(also briefly known as the Central Synagogue)
Address: Victoria Place, Leeds, from 1929 (although moved to Newton Park, Chapeltown Road shortly prior to closing).
Former Addresses: Templar Street - from (official opening) 4 September1898 until 1907 (when building was abandoned for financial reasons)
Following break services resumed in about 1908, until 1929, at  20a St Albans Street.  (This was previously the home of Beth Hamidrash Hagadol Synagogue and the Herzl Moser Zionist Synagogue)
Founded: 1887, as the Mariempoler Synagogue (named after the town in southern Lithuania, Mariampole, from where most of its original congregants originated.)
Current Status: Closed 1958 - merged into Beth Hamidrash Hagadol Synagogue
Ritual: Ashkenazi Orthodox
Membership Data: 1895 - 100 seatholders (Jewish Year Book 1896)
