Rickmansworth and Croxley Green

Rickmansworth (population about 23,000) is a town in Hertfordshire situated about five miles to the west of Watford and a few miles to the northeast of the administrative boundary of Greater London. Croxley Green is a suburb of Rickmansworth.

Rickmansworth is now in the Three Rivers District, a local government district in the county of Hertfordshire, formed in 1974. Until 1974, Rickmansworth was an Urban District.

Rickmansworth Jewish Community

An evacuee Jewish community was founded in Rickmansworth during World War II, but which did not survive long after the cessation of hostilities. However, although there is currently no extant Jewish congregation in the Three Rivers District, it is, according to National Censuses, among the thirty local authorities with the largest number of Jewish residents (see details below).

Cemetery Details

There is no Jewish cemetery in Rickmansworth.

Although Bushey United Synagogue Cemetery is only about 7 miles away, this was not established until 1947. The most likely cemetery used by members of the congregation was Willesden United Cemetery. See Cemeteries of the United Synagogue.
