INTRODUCTION The purpose of this research group is to provide a place to exchange information and forge connections among researchers of the LEIBOVITZ (all spellings) name. Variant spellings include, but are not limited to LEBOVITZ, LEIBOWITZ, LEBOWITZ, LIEBOWITZ, LEIBOVICH, LIEBOVICH, and LEIBOVICI. Anyone with an interest in the Leibovitz (all spellings) name is enthusiastically invited to participate. There are no membership dues. We are a newly-formed, rapidly growing group and would welcome both suggestions and volunteers to take a leadership role in research projects. The Group encourages all members to list their surnames in JewishGen Family Finder at URL: http://www.jewishgen.org/jgff. These listings provide a means for researchers to locate other Leibovitzes (all spellings) in specific geographical locations. We also suggest that researchers use a genealogy data software computer program to enter family information and then generate a GEDCOM to be sent to the online JewishGen version of the Family Tree of the Jewish People (FTJP) at URL: http://www.jewishgen.org/gedcom. The Group has no recommendations about which computer program to use. Initially, we will be communicating electronically via a mailing list hosted by JewishGen. Later we may consider putting up a webpage, but that depends on the willingness of our participants to make it happen. For questions concerning the mailing list, please contact any member of the Leibovitz (all spellings) Research Group Committee: Coordinators: Sue Leibovitz Schudson Marvin Lebow Roni Seibel Liebowitz II.
