Keith Jacobs

Looking for the parents of George Frederick Jacobs.

George Frederick Jacobs born Pimlico 1828.

The first official sighting of George Frederick Jacobs is the marriage index entry for the June quarter of 1857 when he married Emma Noble in Brighton. (Currently awaiting copy of the Marriage Certificate).

George and Emma are found in all subsequent Census returns for 1861, 1871 and 1881, all these returns show that George was a Tailor and born 1828 in Pimlico. Emma is also found in the 1841 and 1851 returns. However there is no trace of George Frederick Jacobs in the 1841 or 1851.

Possible Parents.

Joseph Jacobs, born Poland 1799, appears in the 1851 Census at 35 Marylebone Lane, St Marylebone, this is confirmed in the Jewish Cronical. Further research shows that he lived at 2 Belgrave Street, South Pimlico in 1827 according to the SUN Fire Insurance records, where he is recorded as a gent and of Pimlico. The 1851 Census shows that Joseph had a son, Phillip, who was born in Poland in 1827 so it appears that they arrived in London shortly after Phillip was born.

Prooving the relationship.

I now need to proove or disproove the relationship between Joseph and George, true Georges marriage certificate to Emma should give a clue but will not give total proof. So I need to either find George and Joseph at the same address in the 1841 Census, which has prooven impossible todate, or an entry for Georges birth in a Parish or Synagouge register.

Help Please.

I would be most grateful if someone could tell me which synagouge(s) would have covered the area of Pimilco in 1828 or if anyone could find these two resident at the same address in the 1841 Census.
