My mother's mother was the above Fraida Margolin, my grandfather's name was Yaesef. Her son Jake (Jakob) is on both photos and Tony on the left.

The family lived at Komsomolskaya street 59 and 91, Bobruisk, and were at that address in January 1941. Belarus was invaded by the Nazi's in June of 1941. We have had no contact with Fraida, etc. since the late 1930's.

Other family members include Yankel, Yasha, Shifra and her four children. There was also a Hilel Naiman who was probably Fraida's brother.

Fraida was married 2 times and had children in both marriages: Ida (Ada), Becky (Bess), Ben, Hyman, and Charlie.

My mother Ida (Ada) came to the U.S. around 1907 and went to live with a sister, Bess (married to George Stein) in Brooklyn. Bess was a dressmaker, by trade she had learned in Bobruysk. My mother married my father, Julius Margolis, in Brooklin, N.Y. in 1913. They moved to Lorain, Ohio and had six children.

Other members of the family who made it to the U.S. were Hyman and Ben Margolin, who lived near Boston, and their halfbrother, Charlie Smoot who lived in Texas.
