Necrology: Sefer Nesvizh

This is the necrology, or list of names of those who perished in the Holocaust,
as listed on Pages 501 - 505

Compiled by Judy Kunofsky, Berkeley, California, November, 1997

Notes on this translation:

The names are grouped according to the first letter of the last name in Yiddish. They are not alphabetized within each group in the original or in this translation.
I transliterated Hebrew names according to how I think they are pronounced in Yiddish.
Pronounce:
"i" as in "is"
"ay" as in "fine."
"ey" as in "grey."
Within each letter, I have skipped a space every ten names. This is not done in the original.
See also the list at the very end of people identified by first name and occupation.

TITLE First line in Yiddish: Nesvizh Jews who were martyred (or "met a violent death al kiddush hashem")

Next three lines in Hebrew: and the names of our townspeople, who were killed, slaughtered, burned, strangled "al kiddush hashem" (for the sanctification of the Name (of God) at the time of the second World War).

EDITORS' NOTE (in Hebrew)
In the list of martyrs we are publishing only the name of the head of the family and the number of additional members of his or her family. Similarly, at the end of the list of names for each letter of the alphabet, we've left room to add the names of those who are omitted here. We have not been able to remember all of them. the editors
