Discussion Regarding Formation of Yizkor Book Committee
[Yiddish]
The book was born with painful birth pangs. The idea got started in 1953 at the first meeting of émigrés from Yedinitz in Israel, when it was decided to put together a memorial book. In July 1954, we announced the formation of a committee composed of the following 7 members: Shimshon Bronstein (Tel Aviv), Chairman; Leova Gokovsky, (Yagur); Yaakov Chachmovitch (Chanita); Yissachar Rosenthal (Masada); Mordechai Reicher (Petach Tikvah); Ephraim Schwartzman (Jerusalem), and Joseph Magen-Shitz (Tel Aviv), Secretary.

| Bessarabia Martyrs Forest This monument was erected in memory of the Jewish martyrs of the communities of Bessarabia who on their final journey intended to arrive in the Land of Israel, but never made it. May their memory be immortalized in the gates of the eternal city, the capital of Israel. In their memory the survivors of the following communities planted groves: Kishinev, Amaky, Ackerman, Britchan, Chumin, Yedinitz, Lipkan, Govoslitsa, Skorian. |
