Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

7/4/2004 Barsky Family from Ukraine. Does anyone recognise their father/grandfather in this photo? My grandfather Joseph Barsky is on the right. He had 2 brothers that left to go to the West who he lost touch with. This photo is likely to have been taken before WWII. Any information on the Barsky family would be appreciated. 7/4/2004 I cannot decipher the birthplace written on this Petition for Naturalization. It is supposed to be a town in Austria in 1900 and it is underlined in red.
