Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

13274 Translation - Hebrew

8/5/2009 This is my cousin's distinguished rabbinical family tree. She had it translated in the 1960's but it seems faulty in places due to Geography and history of Europe. Her family tree seems to begin in Vilna in 17th century, goes via Prague to various centres in Hapsburg Empire, then Poland/Lithuania. The family emigrated to Edinburgh about 1870. I would like a fresh translation to compare. View the post with its 2 responses

8/2/2009 This picture was taken in Israel in 1960. Albert Korn (in black) was born in Kassel Gemany on 1920 and died in San Francisco June 2009. The other people in the picture are relatives of Albert maybe from his mother side Stiel family. View the post, there are no responses
13240 Translation - Polish

8/2/2009 This is part 1 of a form filled in by Rudolf NEUMAN, captain in the Polish Army - he served during WWII in the Polish Division under French and then British Command.
The language is POLISH and I think it describes how he made his way from Poland to France in 1939.
I would need a translation into German or English
