Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

9/26/2012 6:47 PM Third Section.

This is a birth cert from Bobowa, Gorlice, Poland. Eidla was born Sept. 26, 1917. This copy of the birth cert was issued in 1934.

I can translate the typed portions.

I can't read much of the handwriting.

To get it readable I had to scan it in several pieces.

Thank you.

24431 Tombstone

9/26/2012 6:47 PM This image is from the JG burial database, and is said to be the stone of Moshe Hartstein, 7 Nisan 5692.

Can someone translate the rest of the Hebrew for me, as I'm trying to figure out if this could be my great grandfather's stone.

Thank you.
