Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

18371 Tombstone

3/16/2011 5:34 PM I'd be most grateful for a translation of the Hebrew on this tombstone. Also, if anyone is aware of any special significance to the imagery used on the stone, I'd be very interested. (I did look at the InfoFile on tombstones but the imagery information isn't very extensive.)

Many thanks.

Debbi

3/16/2011 5:28 PM This photo is of a cousin of my mother's. We believe her surname to be KLEPFISZ and she lived in Lodz, Poland. We think she may be Tauba Klepfisz, daughter of Nison KLEPFISZ. My mother's name is Paula Pessa Massa (nee) INGBERG. Does anyone recognize the woman in this photo? View the post, there are no responses
