Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

4/20/2011 8:07 PM Following will be be tombstones of my great grandparents, Rachel and Samuel. I am hoping that there will be information about who the parents of my great grandparents were. I will be able to trace them back to the small town in Poland, which was taken over by Russia at that time. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Many Blessings for this mitzvah. 4/20/2011 8:06 PM Scholars cataloging headstones in "new" Jewish cemetery in Alzey for 200th anniversary. German completed but organizers cannot read Hebrew inscriptions. There was a wonderful response to set one.

This is part of set two being posted over next few weeks. Assistance deeply appreciated! Image 19 is sized for ViewMate requirements, original larger file available via private email. The bottom portion isn't readable, any portion appreciated. Questions by private email to franluebke@wi.rr.com.

Blessed Pessach!
