Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

11/23/2011 4:08 PM This is the 1880 marriage record of our great-grandparents who were wed in Verbo, Czechoslovakia (now Vrbove, Slovakia). The names of the groom's parents are listed in the second column. In the last column where the bride's parents should be, the mother's name is found on the third line. However, we cannot read the first two lines where the father's name should be. There is a total of 4 words on the first 2 lines of the last column that we can't decipher. Please interpret those 4 words. View the post with its 5 responses

I have other birth records where the date of birth was different from the date of registration so I'm curious to know if this birth record has two very different dates also. 11/23/2011 4:05 PM Has anyone seen pictures like this before? Was this a typical pose that identified a certain group? Was this necessarily a religious or zionist group?
