8/10/2011 4:40 PM This is the birth record of a Brana Dobrit Korenman of 18 April 1874. She is the daughter of Haya Sura Iosifovna Korenman, and her husband (whose name is difficult to read); Haya Sura, daughter of Iosif, is known to have been Yekhezkal Korenman's wife, so there is little doubt but that Brana Dobrit was of this Korenman family.

Also on ViewMate is the death record of Dobret Bronia Korenman of 20 September, 1874. A daughter of Haskel Korenman, she was reportedly 1 1/2 years old. The names - Dobret Bronia and Brana Dobrit - are so similar, they could be the same child. But I would assume Dobret Bronia would have been born in early 1873. Are the records incorrect? Or is this some unusual naming pattern?

8/7/2011 4:08 PM This postcard to Edward Jameson is care of L. Frank, 450 Marsfield Avenue, Chicago, IL. It's in Russian and Yiddish. My FRANK family members lived in Chicago and may have had JAMESON relatives. I'd like to know anything about what this says since am researching these families. Someone I know was able to translate the Russian, which asks how he is doing, but then it changes to Yiddish, and we do not know who the card is from. I'd also like to know where the postcard is from and what the picture is of. Thanks! View the post with its 1 response
19777 Translation - Yiddish

8/7/2011 4:08 PM This is a letter with the letterhead of I. Jameson, so perhaps it comes from the JAMESON family. I don't know. I am researching my FRANK family, who lived in Chicago and I believe were related to JAMESONS. I'd like to know what this says, who it's from and to, plus any other comments a reader might have about it.
