5/22/2011 4:33 PM This is the Ketubah of my grandparents - Israel "Klein" and Miriam Blumenthal, who were married at the very beautiful Princes Road Synagogue in Liverpool, England. Please could somebody translate it into English for me - especially any names of parents and/or witnesses.

Thank you.

19129 Do you recognize?

5/22/2011 4:33 PM As this beautiful photograph (taken in Liverpool in the mid 1890s) was found amongst my late grandmothers papers I can only assume that they are possibly my great great grandparents.

My Russian/Polish great grandmother's English name was Joyce BERLINER Klein, her headstone indicates she was "Simcha, daughter of Binyamin and there was a Polish Benjamin BERLINER living in Liverpool in 1891 - so I am assuming....!

If my assumption is correct they might well be Binyamin Berliner and his wife Krajndla Toper, who, according to JRI-Poland records, were married in Plock Gubernia in 1851.

I do so hope my assumptions are correct and that somebody recognises them.

19117 Translation - Polish

5/22/2011 4:32 PM I found this in a small tin can and I believe it is my grandmother's handwriting.
I assume it is a recipe. Would much appreciate an exact translation in spite of the silverfish who had a good time with the paper...

5/22/2011 4:31 PM Hi,

This is one of the many postcards between my great grandmother gite Mine levin and her future husband Chaim Yitzak Shochet. He was in South Africa and she was in Rokiskis Lithuania. I find it strange this postcard was from East London in South Africa. He lived in a different part of the country.

Very curious to know what it says.

Thanks for the help

Michael

19105 Translation - Yiddish

5/22/2011 4:31 PM I believe this card was sent to my great grandfather Chaim yitzak shochet from my great grandmother gite mine levin during the war. She was in exile in Latvia.

I can see the handwriting is horrible. I am looking for information about Chaim yitzaks brother, parents and sisters. I am hoping she mentions names. We think Boris and Aba are the brothers. But would love to know the sisters name.

Thanks for the help

Michael
