Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

20162 Tombstone

9/18/2011 6:19 PM I am hoping for a translation of the Hebrew inscription on this tombstone. This woman was Bertha Greenberg. Her maiden name was Weiss, and I believe she was from the town of Yassy/Iasi in Romania.

Thank you so much for your help,

Beth Broodno Downing

9/18/2011 6:19 PM This postcard was sent to my SZEJN family in NYC from pre-WWII Paris. The family name of the people on the photo is Lejzerovicz, and they hail from Poland (most likely Warsaw) I would appreciate a loose translation of the text to help me determine their relationship to my family View the post with its 1 response
