19850 Translation - Other

8/14/2011 5:02 PM I visited the town of Salakas (Lithuania) while on the Heritage Tour with Howard Margol and Peggy Freedman in July 2011. My outstanding guide, Loreta Poserskyte, contacted a woman who maintains a local museum in the town of Salakas. She was in her teens when the Germans invaded the town of Salakas. She wrote a detailed narrative about the Jews who lived in Salakas before World War II. I photographed each page of her narrative (about 10 pages) and filmed my guide as she translated the story for me. Kindly translate the name of the author on this page. I would like to address a letter to her to thank her for the time she spent with me visiting the Jewish cemetery and mass grave outside of Salakas. I will try to send the photographed pages and the film of the translation to the LitvakSIG. I would like to add a note of thanks to Howard and Peggy for a most remarkable heritage trip and for all that they do to assist the remaining Jews in Lithuania.
