3/7/2010 Seeking translation of the notes column from the 1896 Bolechow marriage registration of Mendel Horowitz, the son of Lewy Horowitz, the Av Beit Din of Bolechow, and Chave Hornstein.

Their first registered child was Chaje born in 1889.

Their son, Josef born 1892, is the Rabbi gruesomely murdered by the Nazis as described in Daniel Mendelsohn’s “The Lost”.

3/7/2010 The writing appears on a the back of a family photo and I think is Yiddish.

My grand mother regularly wrote to her relatives in Brazil and I think this picture is part of that process.
I would really like to know what was said.

3/7/2010 I understand that this is the marriage record of my maternal Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother. I would naturally like to know their full names, occupations, their parents names, where they came from and age at marriage etc. I have previously uploaded the birth records of their three children: Sura Rywka Viewmate 14735; Chaja Gitla Viewmate 14736 and Zelik Viewmate 13420. Information could be cross-checked.
