Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

15094 Translation - Yiddish

4/14/2010 This postcard was sent from Detroit to my paternal grandmother Rose EINBUND in Pittsburgh in January 1914. I'd like to have the card translated from Yiddish to English.---- My Grandmother came to the US, in July of 1913, from Parichi (near Shchedrin) in the Belarus region of
Russia. ------- The card appears to be from someone named Abe ADELMAN. I don't know if he was a friend, a suitor, or a cousin of some sort. The card was sent c/o my grandmother's cousin Rubin SOLOMON [changed from ZALMANOV]. ------ Thanks for all of the great work in translating and interpreting these letters!

4/14/2010 I am putting together an Anyksciai Shtetlinks webpage and need to have this Lithuanian text translated into English. It is very relevant to my research.

It is about a 1925 cadastral map and property owners' list of Anyksciai (Aniksht in Yiddish) that was published c. 1995 by the Anyksciai town museum or visitors bureau. A landsman and JewishGenner who visited Anyksciai in 1996 mailed a photocopy to me a few years ago.

Any help you can provide with this translation will be greatly appreciated and will benefit all our Yidn with roots or ties to Anyksciai!

4/14/2010 This is page 1 of a 4 page document received from the Lithuanian State Archives with 2 passport cards. Pages 2/3 are photographed both separately and together to ensure that as far as possible nothing has been cut out.
I am very interested in the contents and in particular if there is any reference to the parents of the individual concerned.
Any help that can be given would be much appreciated.
