Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

23320 Translation - Polish

7/8/2012 3:55 PM I apologize in advance if this turns out to be a duplicate of AKT2 that I uploaded just previous to this, but I am not sure based on the records suggested to me to order.
This should be a marriage record between Hinda Kaflowicz and Jochym Majorkowicz. I am looking for as complete a translation as is possible.

Thank you kindly,
Barbara Klein Meyers

23519 Interpretation

7/4/2012 4:34 PM The image is from the 1925 New York State Census.

Scrolling about 2/3 across on the Max Smith line is the date of his naturalization, June 1, 1293. Above that is a note which refers (I think) to the court. Can anyone tell me which court? Mr Smith lived in the Bronx, NY.

23520 Tombstone

7/4/2012 4:34 PM The name on this tombstone has been translated as Rabbi Abraham son of Isaac. The deceased was very devout but I have seen no other indication that he was a rabbi. What is the honorific before his name (rav, rabbi, or something else)? Thank you. View the post with its 4 responses
23512 Translation - Hebrew

7/4/2012 4:33 PM This is the third of five snips I am uploading from a document I found among my grandmother's belongings. I believe this may be a marriage document of some sort, but I have no idea when or where it was written or who it represents. In addition to the Hebrew, I don't know what language is handwritten on the document.

Your insight and help in translation is very much appreciated.

7/4/2012 4:33 PM This is the USA World War 1 draft card of Paul Maus (Pinchas MYSZ). I need to know the birthplace of the father in box 7. I can't make out the first word. It is not Konin, but it is in the same province (Kalisz province of nowadays Poland, than Russia).

Box 4, soldier's birthplace: Konin, Kalisz, Russia.
Box 7: father's birthplace:..., Kalisz, Russia.

Thanks for any tip!
