Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

24905 Translation - German

11/25/2012 1:56 PM Please, I need a translation of the two names following REHFISCH to determine which relative this is. This comes from the efforts of Bert de Jong and his recent trip to the Weissensee Cemetery in Berlin. Of the numerous headstone photos he sent me, this person's is too weathered to read, and the attached hand written file information is in German script - probably Sutterlein Schrift - which I cannot decipher either. Thanks for your help.

11/21/2012 5:01 PM I would be grateful for a translation of this record of my relative from Czernowitz when it was in Bukowina, Austro-Hungary. I am also interested if possible in all of the small writing as well. My curiosity is definitely piqued. Thank you in advance!
