17641 Translation - Polish

1/5/2011 4:08 PM Please translate this photo as it may be of huge benefit to the search for my family. Also I am trying to understand what is the symbol after the name Wein before the ":" symbol and before the other surname Brand. Many thanks in advance. View the post, there are no responses
17642 Translation - German

1/5/2011 4:08 PM This is the birth record of Taube Traurig, daughter of Aron Hersch Traurig and Ides April Traurig.

In other records I thought she later married Wigdor Kessler. In reviewing this birth record I see the name of the man I think she married on the birth record. I don't know why that is. Was it added later for some reason?

Can someone help translate the note written on the bottom left of this record to explain why it lists her father's name again and the name Wigder Kessler? Thank you.

17643 Interpretation

1/5/2011 4:08 PM This is a scan of the Jewish marriage records from Kunmadaras. The first three names show the marriage of Juli, Betti, Rosi, and Sali Friedman. Where did they come from? The record says "N. Bik", "N. Bick", "N. B'uk" and "N. Bi'uk". I think these must be the same town but I don't know where that is today. View the post with its 2 responses

17630 Translation - Yiddish

1/5/2011 4:05 PM This was written on the back of a picture of a couple. I believe they are Wolf Blumberg and his wife whose name is uncertain.
I would like to verify that guess and to know what the message says and to whom it is addressed.
Also, there is a photographer's stamp in the part I cropped out. It is too pale to scan decently, but it appears to say: Foto ,,UNIVERSAL" Szczecin, ul. Slowackiego 1, which I believe is an address. I would like to know what .ul and Slowackiego indicate.

1/5/2011 4:05 PM This is a continuation of information on the passenger list entry for Chane Ruchel Schnapp. About 1/2 way down is who she is going to join. Brother somebody Schnapp. I know Isak is in NY by then and there might be a sister (3rd image), but cannot decipher this given name. And what is the squiggle after New York (before 706 5th St.)? The person on the following line is also of interest as this passenger, Biele Weithorn, is traveling with Chane. Father something Weithorn. Thank you, Jane View the post with its 3 responses
