Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

21368 Translation - Yiddish

1/22/2012 4:21 PM I want to know what the name is.

I am taking the JewishGen beginners genealogy course. I was asked if I know my grandmothers jewish name. She came from Russia around the area of Minsk.

Her english name was Jennie or Jane. I can read hebrew and I am almost positive the name is translated to Charna but maybe not. Also I am not sure this is the name she would have used in Russia?

21365 Do you recognize?

1/22/2012 4:20 PM I'm seeking either the Nathan KLESSMAN or Joseph POLSTER family, both lived on Bexley Rd. in South Euclid, OH. I'm told that both families are cousins of my grandmother, Sara ROSENTHAL OR ANASHEVITZ. The ROSENTHALS lived in New Jersey and Florida. The POLSTERS did come east about 60-65 years ago, I do remember meeting their daughter, JACKIE. The picture has Jackie's name on the back.

Can anybody help? Thanks.
