Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

7/11/2010 4:21 PM This is an extract/copy of a KLS page for Bedzin. The 1st column at left is the place of birth, which states 'Lodz' for most rows except for the one that interests me: the 1st row (under the title), which I cannot read and in fact is supposed to provide the place of birth of my greatgrandfather! Deciphering this word is important because I couldn't find him in the metrical (birth) listings of Bendin! Thank you for any help... View the post with its 1 response
14764 Do you recognize?

7/11/2010 4:20 PM My grandmother Helene Goldstein,
born 1886 in Ruskova. Her parents were Abraham Goldstein and Rifke Hecht.
We are looking for her immigrated relatives,She had 2
brothers and many Hecht and Herskovics cousins in New York up from 1907. Who thinks, is related to her or who knows what happened to Jacob Goldstein (*1889) and Samuel Hecht's (+ 1923) children ? I have many old
addresses, gravestone photos
ect. but no contemparary descendant. The WWII cut off the relations.
Thanks, Renate
