Browse the VM archive to view user-generated images of Jewish historical subjects, documents, culture and places, up close. A new response feature now allows you to add your response to those older, often unanswered archived images. Please respond with relevant information when you can. Here's how. Sort the first column (VM ID) by clicking on the column title for the oldest or the latest images. Select an image. Next click "Add Response".

Alternatively, narrow your search by clicking "Search Archive," above, and type specific search terms.

Your input deserves our thanks and praise, for it may help a Gen'er in new and rewarding ways.
Countless unnamed and dedicated volunteers from across the globe deserve our gratitude. They freely offer their time and skills responding to ViewMate requests. Giving to others will come back to them.

Note: Viewmate's first saved image is #227.

To sort by a column, click the column title. Then click the sort icon [D] to reverse the order.
You will be able to view responses online if available. Items will open in a new browser window.

15739 Interpretation

7/4/2010 9:46 AM This is the place on the ship manifest where the person lists the friend or family they are going to meet. The manifest is of The Rhein, arriving New York on 26 Aug 1913 from Bremen (T715, roll 2160, volume 4904, Frame 246 left side, 245 right side, line 19).

Can anyone figure out what street that is in Brooklyn, or the name of the "broth."? that this passenger, my grandfather Itzke Ruthewicz, is going to see? Thanks
