Please help me decipher the name of Kasiel Skolnik's last residence on this manifest. His entry is on line 22, and his final destination is Chicago. I think I see "K_ yrzyn" (perhaps today's Kuryczyn/Korycin? Or Knyszyn?)
A child's birth certificate (Chicago, 1911) says he (and his wife, whom he married in the U.S.) both came from "Gordna." I know that his wife's family lived in Brańsk,, so I assume this refers to the province of Grodno. "Kencesia" is the birthplace listed on his Naturalization Certificate - no doubt mis-heard by a clerk, as no such shtetl exists.
What do you think, Genner experts? Your help will be most appreciated!
