This is one side of a postcard that was sent from Switzerland to Palestine describing the first days after the author escaped from Vienna. Please also refer to the other side of this postcard.

10/8/2013 12:11 PM Hi Gideon,
are you still in need of some help with the card? If yes, I will translate it, but need some more time.
10/8/2013 12:27 PM Yes, please. If Viewmate takes it down, I could send these images directly to you. Note that I figured out the Hebrew writings in the letter:

ערום ויחף (naked and shoeless)
אי"ה (אם ירצה השם) (in god’s will)
(And God Almighty give us mercy)
קשה כח הסבל (hard to endure the pain)
(That’s probably the plural of permit)

My great uncle seems to have been using “ע” instead of “א” in a few places.
The German part still needs translation on both sides of this postcard.

Lieber Bruder !
(?) kommt heute her !
Zürich Pension Erwin Corni, Ekkerdtstrasse 22, July 4, 1939
Dear brother ! A moment ago we receive your kind letter for which we thank you very much. Besides the fact that we did – I almost could say ((Jewish)) – have left Vienna, that much does deject us the leaving of our children and grandchildren from which we have to say good-bye for God knows how long time. On Wednesday morning ((Jewish)) they leave with their fate towards Columbia ((Jewish)), we must overcome all this. ((Jewish)) We do have to stay here for some weeks to wait for the certificate, given in, in Basel. Another land to travel to, except Palestine was not at disposal. The furniture in Vienna we have left to an preacher, who will take care of the export permission. Of course only a part of the furniture because the ((Jewish)) is finished. Only the mostly needed. (?) does come today!
10/9/2013 12:18 PM Thanks for translating.

I believe that the first line should be "Zürich Pension Comi, Ekkerdtstrasse 22, July 4, 1939" as I have found that a Pension with this name existed at the time at that location in Zürich.

I am also guessing that the person mentioned in the last sentence may be Max (who was a brother of Hirsch that lived in Zürich). I just can not figure out whether he "came" today or he plans to "come" today.
