Close up of parent part of death certificate for Jacob Naimsky. Looking for help determining his mother's name. My guess is Hannah Gzochowsky. But this spelling doesn't come up anywhere. So I'm wondering if I misread it.

Thanks!

4/1/2013 2:46 AM Hello Cyndi,

The father of the decedent was Abraham Naimsky, who was born in Poland.

The mother's maiden name was Hannah Gzochowsky, and she was born in Poland also.

Just a helpful hint. If you cannot find what you are looking for with this spelling, you have to think creatively for other spellings that have similar sounds. If you have the option of using the "Soundex Spelling System", most definitely do so....Jo
4/1/2013 4:19 AM Hi Cindy,

let the "z" be a "r" GROCHOWSKY...

4/6/2013 12:31 PM Good to know others agree with my transcription. My guess is that most people changed the z to an r when they moved to the US or another English speaking country. Either that or my great uncle (the informant was Jacob's son-in-law) got it wrong. Thanks!
