Bottom half of a ketubah. Not sure if Yiddish or Hebrew. I am most interested in the handwritten parts, which I assume are names and dates.

2/22/2013 4:26 PM Hello Carolyn,

The printed text of this document is in Hebrew. The fill-ins are either in Yiddish of Hebrew, depending on how that person spelled his/her name.

Some names within the document are:

Rifka and the following name seems to be Ashmelta. It might be her surname, and the spelling is an approximation of what I can decipher. Further on, her name is written as Rifka, daughter of Israel Ashmelta.

Binyamin/Benjamin is the groom. His father's name is not legible.

The name of the witness on the right side is Yitzchak. His surname might start with a "P" and ends with "bin" or "kin", but it is not legible.

Just a little bit, but hope you have something more with which to work......Jo
