On the back of a photo of her daughter, Peirale Vollman, Roza Licht Vollman has inscribed a message to her aunt and uncle Spiwak in Russian the day before they were to leave Capresti to return to the US. I've had that part translated.

But I don't know what the numbers written sideways above the word "Soroca" mean. Can anyone interpret them for me?

75/7.929

On  Response
2/6/2013 8:58 PM The numbers are 15/7.929.

The 1 and the 7 are written in the European way, with a strike through the 7 to distinguish it from the 1.

It's a date: July 15 1929. The millennium is dropped.
