This postcard was sent to Alice Brill by her brother Erich Brill. Erich was an established artist and traveled extensively. He ultimately died in Riga at the end of WWII in a mass shooting. His family is piecing together his life and this postcard needs translation. We know that it is in rough shape, so please do whatever you can. Thank you!

Dear Selma, since I don't know where you live, I write via Alice's address (the lazy animal could write once more detailed).
On the occasion of your son's birthday today I wish you luck from my heart.
Greetings to you and Grete, who could let hear something too,
your Erich

[I hope I did not falsely offend anyone - this is what I read]
2/6/2013 3:11 AM Hello Jan,
It could be the year 1915. The postmark shows the (military lazaret) St.Bernhardsschule Sablon in Metz.
Elsass-Lothringen belonged till end of ww1 to Germany.
But an Erich Brill from Guben was slightly wounded in
July 1915...
