2/4/2013 12:44 AM Hello Joanne,

This is signed by Herskovits Miksa on May 6, 1899 in Miskolcz. By the way, Miksa is a masculine given name.

The line above is the following: szereto unokabatjad. This means "your (male) cousin".

Hope that this is helpful even though the text still needs translation....Jo

Ifjuságod tavaszában
Férfi eszményt ne keress,
Ne hallgass a sziv szavára,
Mert csalfa a dobbanása.
Játszva imádj és szeress.

szeretö unokabátyád
Herskovits Miksa
Miskolcz 1899 május 6.

In the storms of life,
In the spring of your youth,
Do not look for a male ideal,
Do not listen to the heart's words,
because its beats are false.
Pray (or adore) and love playingly (easily).

Your loving (elder male) cousin
Nick Herskovits
Miskolc, May 6 1899.
