Please can someone read and transliterate & translate this document. I am assuming it is in Yiddish. I have no idea of the date or content, though was told that it relates to Goltsch Jenikau and belonged to some part of the Alter/Altar-Beran-Löwi families of Goltsch Jenikau, Jaroschau Luze .

Thanking you for any help you can give.

1/30/2013 2:55 AM If I'm not mistaken, this letter is relatively quite old. It was written in 1849, is addressed to "my dear children" and is signed off by a certain "Jonathan ... Alter".
The 2nd half of the letter was written by the mother, as it starts "I greet you, my dear children" and is signed off by "your devoted mother".

The language is a strongly Germanized Yiddish ("Daitschmerish") and both handwritings take a lot of time to decipher.
Perhaps you'll be better off with a paid translator who will be able to give you the time and the expertise this will take to translate.
