1/5/2013 3:13 PM All that took place in the Town of Rejowiec on the sixth of August eighteen hundred forty-two at two o’clock in the afternoon. An Orthodox Jew Szypsel Mandelbaum, deputising for the local Rabbi, showed up in person accompanied by an Orthodox Jew Abraham Janklowicz Czesny, the bachelor aged nineteen, residing in the Village of Zastawie located within the Uhrusk Commune in Wlodawa County, being supported by his parents, born in the Villiage of Zastawie located within Uhrusk Commune, the begotten son of a married couple, namely Jankiel and Tauba Czesny, both still alive, as well as Sura Bayla Merynsztayn, the maiden aged seventeen, residing in the Village of Wierzchowiny, the begotten daughter of a married couple, namely Chaja and Mordko Merynsztayn, the latter not alive anymore, and declared in the presence of witnesses, namely Mordko Borensztayn, the szkolnik aged fifty-four and Moszko Kam, the szkolnik aged forty-three, both residing in the Town of Rejowiec, that the religious marriage had been entered into on that day by the bachelor Abraham Janklowicz Czesny and the maiden Sura Bayla Merynsztayn. The marriage had been preceded by a triple calling of banns in the synagogue in Rejowiec as well as in the synagogue in Wlodawa, i.e. on the sixteenth of July, on the twenty-third of July and on the thirtieth of July of the current year , the eighteen hundred forty-two, and the verbal consent to marriage had been granted by the parents of the newly married. No impediments to a proposed marriage had occurred. The newly married declared they had not signed any premarital agreement. The above certificate was read aloud to the appeared and the witnesses and was signed by all of them except for the bride as she was illiterate.
