Some type of train ticket? has the name of my great grandfather on it.
If anyone knows what it was used for?
Thank you.

12/10/2012 5:23 PM This is a season ticket indeed, a quarterly regular ticket to be more precise ("Bilet kwartalny normalny"). Unfortunately, since some of the text is hidden, I can't say for sure if it is a train ticket or bus or tram ticket.
However, it mentions lines/routes ("Wa┼╝ny na wszystkie linie w dz...[???]" = "Valid for all lines/routes in d...[???]"), so I assume that this is most probably a bus/tram ticket.
The ticket was valid until 31 March 1924, also the holder's name is mentioned (Albin Szlama J...[???]).
What I can figure out from the fragment at the bottom of the ticket is that it was valid only for a person whose name was mentioned above, and that the ticked was not valid without a photo (of the holder, I assume).

Hope that helps.
12/10/2012 5:31 PM Update: the number of 44 000 000 is the price of the ticket (I think I can see the word "CENA"="PRICE" before it) in Polish marka - which was the Polish currency until 1924 and was subsequently replaced by Polish zloty (due to the damage done to the old currency by the inflation - please note the astronomic price of the ticket!).
The 1924's currency exchange rate was 1,800,000 marek to 1 zloty.
