11/29/2012 12:57 AM The surname is BACHUR, and that's his date of death. He's mentioned in Heppner & Herzberg, _Aus Vergangenheit und Gegenwart der Juden und der juedischen Gemeinden in den Posener Landen_, pp. 546-7. He was a Talmud scholar and a schoolteacher, and served several terms as parnas. He was a rabbi, but not *the* rabbi of Koschmin. His son Baruch (d. 23 Elul 5557) served on the synagogue board, was a cantor and mohel, etc.
11/29/2012 4:22 AM Abraham Liebmann, tradesman and bartender, is listed on p. 60 of http://lccn.loc.gov/2004023145 and in the Verzeichniss from which the information for the book is taken and cited in the Library of Congress record, as living in Kozemin (Koschmin), Posen, Prussia. The information in the book is from about three years before his death. Koschmin was small, and Liebmann is very likely to be the same person as in your citation. Without disagreeing with the previous poster, "R." could mean "Reb" = "Mister" and not "Rabbi."--Edward David Luft
