On  Response
11/28/2012 9:33 PM Sir,

I hasten to give below a copy of a letter that I have just received from Consul Vandral (name not clear)of Poland in Brussels:

In response to your letter of October #725/1, I hasten to inform you that Poles originally from Galicia (formerly Austrian citizens),have had no obligation to opt to acquire Polish nationality, which is rightfully theirs. Consequently if the Nussbaum family has the right of being natives of a community in Galicia, and if it has not lost that right as a result of naturalization in Germany or the Grand Duchy (Luxembourg) it must be considered as being of Polish nationality.
In order to establish this fact indubitably it is necessary for G. Nussbaum to fill out, as exactly as possible the form attached here and that he furnishes all of the data of the civil records concerning his father. He must also indicate the Polish community from which his father came, as 'at' of from 'where' he had the right as a native.

I send to you attached therefore the form that you will fill out and return to me.
Please accept,Sir,the assurance of my best wishes.
For the Consul,
..... (Illegible name)

11/29/2012 4:02 AM One or two details:

- not Consul Vandral but Consulate General.
- your letter of 1st October
- "Droit d'indigénat" translates as "right of citizenship"
- He must also specify his father's place of origin, that is [the place] where he enjoyed right of citizenship.
