This is a postcard from a Herman Waldman to my GGM Chaya Sara Singer. Through translation I am hoping to figure out who Herman Waldman is and what the message was. There are Waldman's on the other side of my family. It must have been forwarded to my GM in the US, I'd like to understand the background.

On  Response
7/26/2012 3:06 AM The introductory lines are in Hebrew, the rest of the text is in “daitschmerish”.
It is written by a male (can’t make out his name or signature) to his "mekhutn" (the father of either his son-in-law or his daughter-in-law) to ask him the address in America of a certain Shmuel, because he needs to contact him in relation to a plot of grazing land in the old country that someone has offered to buy. He is expecting a quick response. He is a religious man because he mentions the "parasha" next to the date and he uses the usual Hebrew acronyms for expressions such as "with the help of God", "God willing", etc.

Hope this helps.
