City of Łódź.

The below record was set down on 26th October 1837 at eleven o’clock a.m. Two Jews showed up in person, i.e. Jakob Tobias, the baker, aged thirty one and Lewek Henrykowski, the day labourer, aged fifty five, both residing in the city of Lodz and testified that Juda Koplowicz, the baker, his faith being Jewish, had deceased at ten o’clock a.m. on the day before, at the age of seventy one, leaving behind his wife Ryfka and his five children. His decease was proved factual. The certificate written above was read aloud to the appeared and signed by themselves as well as by one of the witnesses as the other one was illiterate.
