6/11/2012 2:11 AM Hello Marshall,

Rifkah's father's name was Reb Dovid, HaKohane. The word "Reb" is a title of honor and respect, which appears before the given name of the male. It does NOT imply rabbi. Some people use the translation Mr., while others the translations of Reb or Reverend for this word. There is no Hebrew surname mentioned.

Also "HaKohane" is a designation, passed down through the generations from father to son (providing that the child is born of a Jewish mother). The Kohanim (plural) is the name of the priestly tribe from the time of the ancient Temple in Jerusalem, which continues on in designation in current day. Kohane is the singular form of the word.

Hope that this serves to clarify the responses....Jo
