I am working on a translation for JOWBR. Does anyone have an answer for the father's name? Appears to be Yud-gimel-chet with a diacritical mark.

On  Response
8/11/2009 I would guesstimate that it is rather a Yud-tzadi-chet and stands for Yitzchok
8/19/2009 1) An upright and blameless man, fearing God 2) He was our master and teacher Zevi-Zeev, son of 3) the rabbi ou master and teacher (I don't read Yod Gimel Chet, but Aleph-Chet), died 4) 10 days in Shevat 5) year 617, in accordance with the little count 6) Let his soul be bound in the bundle of life. - Wednesday 4 February 1857.

If you can send me a larger picture, perhaps I'll be able to bring you a response.
