This research came from the donated papers of a defunct landsmanshaften deposited at YIVO.

Owing to the talent of the YIVO archivists we were able to use a ledger recording the dues payments of the membership of the Lodge. The ledger book is falling apart as it faces its seventy-first year, many of those years as a
diligent month by month recording of the faithful Horodishter Kosover membership as well as their addresses and notations of the death of
members. This was quite often followed by the surviving spouse continuing the membership. We can note the persistence of membership by the large number of unique spelling of names, i.e., Sitomer for Zitomer. The membership used the Beth David cemetery in Elmont,NY. It is sad to note the correspondence relating to the involved dissolution of the Lodge.
