Max SABBATH ne KHARITON and his parents Leib and Ruth KHARITON This picture taken in 1884 in Dashev was a treasured remembrance after Max and his wife and children emigrated in 1906. Leib was recorded in the 1906 Kiev Duma Records as Leib Nakhmanovich Khariton as a property owner with property valued at 150 rubles. There were two other men with the surname Khariton and the patrynomic Nakhmanovich in that Duma list who were presumably sibs of Leib -Kiva and Shulim. The name of Max's sister in this picture is not known, perhaps you can help solve this mystery? She is probably the mother of the nephew of Max who sent him the following picture of himself and his family in the 1930s. This photo and information was supplied by his descendant Bonnie

Max SABBATH ne KHARITON (1878-1956) was sent this picture in 1930 by his nephew Nicholai still living in Dashev. Nikolai's last name is not known. Presumably he is the son of Max's sister whose name has not yet been discovered. This photo was also supplied by the generosity of Bonnie Blish

1906 Russian Passport for Mordechai KHARITON later Max SABBATH This document had been marked "passport 1907" in the upper right corner, but when our community-minded donor, Bonnie Blish, went to have it translated, she was told that it was Max's Military Discharge papers.
