Dacorum Community

(comprising Berkhamsted and Hemel Hempstead)

Borough of Decorum

Dacorum is a local government district (with borough status since 1984) within the county of Hertfordshire, to the northeast of London. It was formed in 1974 by the merger of all or part of seven local authorities, including the municipal borough of Hemel Hempstead and the urban district of Berkhampsted. 
Hemel Hempstead, designated a “New Town” in 1946, is in the county of Hertfordshire in southeast England, with a population of about 80,000. 
The town of Berkhamsted is a historic town of about 19,000, situated on the Grand Union Canal and the river Bulborne.

Jewish Community

Although there was a medieval Jewish community in Berkhamsted, the following are the only congregations known to have existed in what is now the borough of Dacorum in modern times:
