This site contains the names of the current virtual cyber shtetls (towns) of Lithuania. For each shtetl with a web page, the Uezd (district) and Gubernia (province) it was once part of is listed. If you click on the shtetl name, you can get additional information.

The uezds and gubernias included in this CyberShtetl list are the designations used in the very early 1900’s.  Since many geographic changes have occurred, a shtetl that may have been in one of the gubernias covered by LitvakSIG may now be in a country other than Lithuania, such as Russia, Poland, or the Ukraine. For a full list of Lithuanian shtetls that once were, please check the Research groups.

If you do not find your shtetl on this list of Lithuanian cyber shtetl pages, that means it does not yet have an Internet web page created in its memory. To become involved in creating a web site for your ancestral shtetl, click here
