Indices for records not filmed by the LDS

The goal of the Jewish Records Indexing - Poland milestone agreement with the Polish State Archives is to index all Jewish vital records more than 100 years old in the Polish State Archives that are not included in the microfilm collection of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the Mormons). Copies of these records are available from the Polish State Archives.

Lublin Polish State Archives (PSA) project

All data available from the Lublin Archives as of 2005 has been indexed and is on-line with the exception of Leczna which is awaiting funding. Additional years for many towns have now become available and are described in the table below.

New registers are transferred each year from the Civil Records Offices to the archives. As the new registers are received in the archives, these will be indexed as well.

As the fundraising target for the new data is reached for each town, the data is processed and the information from the indices will become available on-line. See the Project Status page for the current fundraising status for the towns in the Lublin project. Fundraising targets are added as information on the cost of new data from each town project becomes available.

Surviving records less than 100 years old are held in the Civil Records Offices (Urzad Stanu Cywilnego) of each town.

For information on the 20th century records available for your town, visit the Routes to Roots Foundation website, CLICK ON THE 'SEARCH DATABASE' button (on the right side) and enter the town name. Look for the town name in the Repository/City column of the search results. There are typically links to lists of available births, marriage and death records for the town.

Note, however, the Routes to Roots Foundation database may indicate turn of the century records that have already been transferred to the appropriate branch of the Polish State Archives where they can be indexed for the JRI-Poland database.
