In February, Hadassah Lipsius spotted an entry for a Bernard Jakobson. This was jarring because her uncle Bernard died in the Holocaust and no one ever knew the circumstances. Not only was Hadassah able to visit and honor the grave last month, but seeing the matzevah was final confirmation that Bernard was properly buried in 1941 - despite the war and deprivation all around. Even these 60 years later, it has given comfort to Haddah’s family.
