There are many types of records of interest. And we have already started by including entries from Polish cemeteries and newspapers in our database. Because access is restricted when it involves indices of 20th century vital records, Cemetery and Newspaper advertisements of marriages or deaths become valuable substitutes. This is information that is available to us outside of the archival system.
On the other hand, Books of Residents and school records are generally held by the archives and many of these have information on people who lived in the 20th century. During the next year, we hope to explore the possibility of indexing some of this material and to consider the most practical means to undertake the work. Once more, I believe we will be counting on branch archivists to play a key role.
