Stepping back in time, we must also recognize the enormous contribution of both the Polish State Archives and town Civil Records Offices, in whose hands the vital record registers of Poland have survived, in some cases for more than two centuries. Especially when we remember a time when we may have believed there were no records for our families, it is simply breathtaking to consider how many Polish Jewish records do exist.
