The JGSGW genealogy library is at its new location at the B'nai Israel Congregation, 6301 Montrose Road, Rockville, Maryland 20852. It is co-located with the Chod Media Center on the second floor.

The entire Library collection is listed on this Excel spreadsheet. After opening the file you can browse the list, search for a specific item or sort the list using any column. In addition, listings of specific sections of the spreadsheet can be accessed by using the hyperlinks for 3-ring binders, Books, CDs/DVDs, Fiche, and Periodicals (magazines and newsletters).

Library Hours - starting Sept. 9, 2009

The following are the hours for the JGSGW Genealogy Library, in the Chod Media Center of B'nai Israel Congregation, through 2009. We welcome all members.

The Sunday hours (first Sunday of the month): generally 10:00 AM - Noon, by appointment only.

In addition, on Sundays where the general meeting is held at B'nai Israel, the Library will be open from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM. (Those meetings are currently scheduled for September 13, October 18, November 15, 2009, and March 7 and May 16, 2010.)

1:00 – 3:00 pm, starting Sept. 9, 2009. Note that the library will be closed Sept. 16 and 23 due to B'nai Israel holiday preparations.

Thursdays

The Library is non-circulating for reference only and is open to members of JGSGW (with a membership card) and B'nai Israel (with a BI library card).

Included in the collection are about 300 recorded lectures on subjects of particular interest to Jewish genealogists. Most of the lectures are about one-hour in length and may be listened to at one of the 13 workstations located in the Chod Media Center.
