Affiliation: One one of the 21 or 22 original members of the Federation of Synagogues formed on 6 November 1887 (listed by V. D. Lipman in his "Social History of the Jews in England 1850-1950" - pp 120-121), although it does not appear to have been one of the congregations that attended the meeting of 16 October 1887 at which it was agreed to form the Federation.  (List of Federation congregations)
