The town of Hinckley in the English East Midlands has a population of about 43,000. It was an urban district until 1974, when it was merged with adjoining areas to form the District (later Borough) of Hinckley and Bosworth, still remaining within the county of Leicestershire.

Hinckley Jewish Community

A Jewish community was established in Hinckley during World War II, primarily was evacuees, which survived a decade following for the end of the War. During this period a Jewish congregation was established, which, unlike almost all other evacuee congregations, was affiliated to the Federation of Synagogues.
