‘Barry Dock. At a meeting held last week, Mr. H. Hauser in the Chair, it was decided to form a congregation. The following were elected: Messrs. J. Janner, President; S. Freedman, treasurer; B. Janner, Hon. Secretary. Thanks were accorded Mr. J. Janner for having lent his premises for services held on the High Festivals, and for acting as Warden’.

‘Barry Dock. Among the successful competitions at the annual Eisteddfod of the Barry section of the Cymrodorian Society, Sarah Janner, aged eleven, younger daughter of Mr. J. Janner, obtained the first prize for the Welsh recitation. Sixty-two English and Welsh children competed’.

‘Barry. A general meeting of the congregation was held last Sunday. The balance-sheet was adopted. It showed a surplus of over £7, with which it is proposed to purchase a Sefer Torah. Messrs. J. Janner was elected President; Mr. Abe Hauser, Treasurer; and Mr, Hyman Hauser, Hon. Secretary. Mr. Gaist presented a Mantle for the Scroll of the Law, and Mrs. H. Hauser presented a Silver Pointer in memory of her mother’.
