+----------------------------------------------------------------------+ RESEARCHING JEWISH GENEALOGIES IN IRELAND +----------------------------------------------------------------------+ A JewishGen InfoFile By Aaron Roetenberg National Archives Bishop St. Dublin 8 Ireland 01-478-3711 www.nationalarchives.ie/general.html Will indexes are great. 1901 & 1911 census, you must use Tom's directories to find the address, then you have to look in the index to find the street, then you look at the census. This is very different than the USA. No soundex! Census information is similar to the USA records. General Register Office Joyce House 8-11 Lombard St. E. Dublin 2 Ireland 01-671-1000 Birth, Death & Marriage Records Birth 1864 to present, most are indexed by quarter within one year. This includes date & place of birth, sex, fathers name and address, mothers maiden and surname, profession of father, Informant's signature and address, etc. These are good. Death 1864 to present, most are indexed by quarter within one year. This includes: date & place of death, name, sex, condition, age, occupation, cause of death, signature and address of informant. This record doesn't contain parent's names. Marriage 1864 to present, not all Jewish marriages were recorded, synagogues kept marriage records too. Try the synagogue first. I found synagogue records which contain parents information. I didn't find any at this location.
